Cowboy Beans

I like using black beans on my taco salad for my starch. I have also made the cowboy beans out if the MRC cookbook they are pretty good.
1/4 C. pinto beans
1/4 C. water
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 oz. chopped green onions
1/8 tsp. chili powder
pinch of ginger
1/4 pkg. Splenda if desired.

I add a little cayenne to it to spice it up and sometimes I add a tomato soup HNS to it and a little mustard.
Mix it all together and simmer.
makes one serving.
Replaces your starch
